This weekend saw me at Rye House for round 2 of the winter series TKZ. Our first session out was practice. in the wet…. on slicks… The first few laps were very slippery and hard to navigate my way around the track, but as the session went on i started getting use to the conditions and put in the fastest lap.

I got a GT Omega Titan sim rig for Christmas and I’ve got Kart Sim so I have been practicing a lot. Dad said I need to work on getting more consistent. It definitely looks like ita working 💪

QUALIFYING

My second session was qualifying. It was still very wet even wetter than practice. And we were still on slick tires, the straight was so slippy that the karts were aquaplaning everywhere. It was a very tuff session but we still managed to come through and get second place for the race.

HEAT

After a break we got straight back in for our heat 1. It was still wet but not as much as in the previous sessions. The team put wets on for the race so there wouldn’t be carnage into turn one. The wets made me feel more comfortable in the race because we would have more grip on track. The start of the race wasn’t in my favour, i dropped to third but quickly followed behind them, it was a long race and a hard one. But after an unlucky spin for Logan Mcallister i snuck through into second position, which is where i started and finished. It would put me into second for the final.

FINAL

The final came around really fast, i was starting second position, i was hoping for the win if i was quick enough. I had another very unlucky start dropping down to third once again. The leaders had pulled a little gap to me but throughout the race i slowly brought the gap down to where i was right behind them again. It was another long and demanding race and unfortunately again Logan Mcallister had another spin on the last lap allowing me after taking avoiding action to jump back into second position.

It was overall a great weekend. It was a-lot of fun and a very wet experience. well done to Myles for winning and well done to Logan Mcallister for third place.

don’t give up until its over.
